The title page is marked “Copyrighted 1939.”Compiled and edited by Lillie S. Lustig, S. Claire Sondheim and Sarah Rensel, with decorations by H. Charles Kellum.The front cover advertises “322 Old Dixie Recipes.” The book contains a wide variety of traditional Southern recipes, including breads and biscuits, cakes, meats, poultry, vegetables, desserts, beverages and regional specialties.Recipes and references include Southern biscuits and cornbread, hominy/grits, okra, jambalaya, Mint Julep, Planter’s Punch, North Carolina Syllabub and many others.Condition:Pre-owned vintage condition with significant age-related wear consistent with an older cookbook. The covers show rubbing, edge/corner wear, small chips/nicks and discoloration. Interior pages show noticeable age toning/yellowing along with occasional marks/spotting.
