Vintage Mathematics & Physics Hardcover Book Lot – 4 Books Offered here is a collection of four vintage academic mathematics and physics textbooks from the 1930s and 1940s. The lot includes: • An Elementary Treatise on Differential Equations by Abraham Cohen, Ph.D. – Second Edition, Completely Revised – D.C. Heath and Company – 1933. • Vector Methods Applied to Differential Geometry, Mechanics, and Potential Theory by D. E. Rutherford – Fifth Edition – Oliver and Boyd – 1948. • Solid Analytic Geometry by John M. H. Olmsted, Ph.D. – D. Appleton-Century Company – Copyright 1947. • Electricity and Magnetism for Degree Students by Sydney G. Starling – Seventh Edition – Longmans, Green and Co. – 1947 reprint. This copy includes the period “Book Production War Economy Standard” notice. These are genuine older academic textbooks and retain considerable period character. Subjects represented include differential equations, vector methods, analytic geometry, electricity and magnetism. Condition: All four books are pre-owned vintage copies and show age and use. Covers have rubbing, scuffing, fading, edge/corner wear and other cosmetic wear. Interior pages show age toning/yellowing and occasional spotting or marks. There are various previous-owner inscriptions and other handwritten markings. Some endpapers contain mathematical calculations/notes. One book has an older Barron’s Textbook Exchange label, and another retains a previous-owner return/address label. These markings are part of the books’ history and are shown in the photographs. No dust jackets are included. Due to the age of these books, the entire contents have not been inspected page-by-page for every possible marking, small tear, stain or other age-related imperfection.
