The bill of lading is the delivery record
The bill of lading signed at loading is the delivery record. The 5-business-day acceptance window counts from the collection date, and count claims are settled against what the driver counted and noted there.
Because count claims are settled against the bill of lading, make sure the driver's count and notes are on it before the truck leaves.
